Emma Cousin (b.1986) based in London, works with drawings and paintings of scenes of the imagined and felt. She obtained her BA from The Ruskin School of Art. Her compositions employ comic and curious metaphors that explore the normative tensions within contemporary society. She is the 2019 recipient of the Survey Award and the 2016 Marmite Painting Prize. 2021 exhibitions include Introduction at the White Cube and the Drawing Biennial Drawing Room. Cousins is also currently a Tutor for the foundation program at The Academy and a Visiting Lecturer at the Sotheby’s Institute, London.
